Haunted house in pondicherry A house located next to the Pondicherry Museum is reported to be haunted by a lady who was brutally attacked by her brother-in-law back in 1999. Parvathi, the victim, was a beautiful girl and a sister of 3 younger brothers.

She belonged to a very decent and rich family. She loved her husband Ravi during her college days. The incident took place a few months after Parvathi married Ravi Shah.

Ravi’s brother Kamal had an eye for Parvathi. Kamal Shah attacked her by hitting on the back of her head with a piece of brick and then with the log. He then raped and murdered her. Kamal was sentenced to death by hanging.

Ravi Shah and her mother Padmavati also sentenced to prison for running away and destroying the evidence. According to reports, Kamal was of an unstable mind and was undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

The house is now abandoned for almost 20 years. Until now this house is locked and it looks like haunted. Locals have reported seeing shadowy figures, visions of faces appearing on the wall of the house.

2. Pondicherry Beach Road

haunted beach road in pondicherryPondicherry, as designed by the French, is divided into two parts: White town or French town and Tamil town. The White town was solely reserved for the white French people who had settled here.

Till date, the French town retains much of its French flavour. The town consists of houses that are normally colonial style with long compounds and walls. The Beach road also offers sea-face wide roads and pavements with buildings on both sides. This attracts the majority of tourists. Apart from all these positivities, the French town is sometimes accused as residents for ghosts and evils.

One of the political parties in Pondicherry had their office near this road and due to disuse for several years the office was totally damaged. Rumour has it say that someone was killed in the upper eastern section of the building and that part remains abandoned.

Later, the political party sold their property to one of the richest persons in Pondy. He renovated the building, but, the evil remained in that place.

This particular place is different from the rest and people can measure the depth of the evil. People, nearby, claim that they have seen a spirit peering through the window of that building. And after a minute or so, the shadow vanishes in thin air. Don’t get too close to the place after sunset!
