20 Easy Kitchen Hacks & Food Hacks Everyone Should Know

I always found people around me in trouble due to small things in their Kitchen and Life which gives lots of pain while they are in a hurry to cook, but what if you learn some easy and soul-pleasing Kitchen Hacks & Food hacks already?

Tricks which are hidden from your eyes, that wouldn’t hurt, would it? These hacks would help you invest a little time in the kitchen and save a lot of time for yourself. Save energy, save time and be a pro in your kitchen with these Kitchen Hacks.

#1.Food Hack – Give bananas a longer life

Do you want to keep bananas fresher for a week, wrap the end of the banana bunch with plastic wrap (fresh wrap), It will slow down the ripening of fruit, and they will be fresh for a long time.

#2.Food Hack – Save sliced apple from browning

Squeeze a dash of lemon juice over sliced apples. The citric acid and vitamin C in lemon juice slowdowns the oxidation process that causes browning. Hence apples would look appetizing for a long time.

3.Prevent brown sugar from hardening

Brown sugar will  stay soft and scoop able by tossing an orange peel or a slice of apple along with the sugar into an airtight container. For a quick fix, microwave brown sugar next to a small glass of water. The moisture within the microwave will help break up the block of sweetener.

4.One of the Most Useful Kitchen Hacks – Check if eggs are still Edible

Gently put raw eggs in a tank of water to see if they’ve gone rotten. If the eggs sink to the bottom, they are good to use, if they float on the surface, that means they are older throw them out.

5.Separate yolks from whites

Separate eggs by gently squeezing a plastic water bottle over a cracked egg. When the bottle re-inflates with air, it will scoop the yolk right up.

6.Pit cherries with ease

Place cherries on top of an empty bottle, one at a time, and use a skewer to push the pit into the bottle. This is one of the easiest Kitchen hacks.

7.Easy Kitchen Hack – Peeling the skin from Ginger

One of the Kitchen hacks that you should know is, how to easily peel the skin of ginger. Use a spoon to peel the skin of ginger; it would be quick and easy. Ginger also helps with Controlling Dandruff and Hair fall. 

8.Peel garlic the fuss-free way

Garlic, is one of the most common used ingredient in our kitchen, so here is a kitchen hack for the same, Remove all cloves from the bulb, put it in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 20 seconds.

Woah! Peeled garlic cloves are ready.

9.Culinary Hack – Peel Citrus fruits without the mess

To avoid the mess and frustration of peeling citrus fruits, roll citrus fruits like lemons , lime or oranges. You can also microwave them for 30 seconds for easy peeling. (just be careful not to burn yourself).

10. De-skin potatoes without a peeler

Peeling the boiled potato is always a pain and you ended up burning your fingers, So boil potatoes and immediately put them into ice cold water, the skin will automatically be peeled off without pain. Super easy food hack, yeah?

11.Make poach eggs an easy task

Add two teaspoons of vinegar to hot boiling water and stir continuously, Now drop the whole egg into water, keep it in water for 3-5 minutes. Poached eggs are ready to eat.

12. Pit and peel an avocado easily

Cut an avocado into half length-wise to break the fruit from the pit. Now twist slightly you will get two parts of avocado and now bang a knife on seed, and it’s done.

13. Strawberry Hack

Press a straw through the bottom of a strawberry until it breaks through the top. Remove any remaining leaves with your fingers.

14.Prevent Onions From Making your Eyes Teary

Everyone of us have almost cried every time we chop onions. Let me tell you, after today you won’t anymore. The Best Kitchen Hack ever is to Keep onions in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes. I bet you won’t complain about getting tears in your eyes.

15.Cut cherry tomatoes in half all at once

Cut cherry tomatoes in half quickly by putting them between two lids.  Gently slice them horizontally while pressing down the top lid for perfectly halved cherry tomatoes.

16. De-crystallize honey is a pain?

To crystallized honey back, by placing the container in a bowl of hot water for 5 to 10 minutes.

17. Keep Pots from Boiling Over

Prevent over boiling from container by putting a wooden spatula over the container. This kitchen hack actually is useful especially when you are away for a few seconds and the gas is on!

18. Reheat pizza

When you want to reheat pizza, place a cup of water in the microwave with the pizza slice, to keeping the food from drying out.

19.Save fresh herbs and use them in future

Use an ice tray to store freshly chopped herbs in olive oil, and freeze them. You can use those cubes for next 6 months.

20.Chill wine and cocktails without making it watery

Add frozen grapes to your wine glass instead of ice cubes, ice cubes melts in your drink and make it watery. But these grapes will chill your wine without making it watery.
