Review of Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop

Introduction and Ambience:

Ghirardelli is the third-oldest chocolate factory in the US. It is famous for its chocolate bars. However, this post will focus on Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop that is an additional to Ghirardelli’s chocolate store. The shop is located at 900 North Point Street in San Francisco, right in the Ghirardelli Square. It opens from 9 AM to 11 PM, except on Friday and Saturday that it opens till midnight.

Service:

Before you even set your feet into the shop, a staff member will offer you a free square of chocolate for you to taste. You can choose to look around and buy some chocolate bars and squares. If not, it is time to get in line to order your beverages. The cashiers are very nice. But as a four-time visitor at Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop, there were a few bothersome moments. One time a friend of mine got the wrong order, and the cashier who took his order insisted that she heard him correctly. That was unprofessional. Fortunately, the manager solved the problem by giving him the correct order without any charge.

Food:

It is a wonder that chocolate can be made into or be put on anything. You can choose to have ice cream, hot or iced cocoa, milkshakes and many other things. Moreover, you can take their beautiful printed out menu from the shop. But for now, please feel free to check it out here.

Since Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop is within a walking distance from the sea, it is reasonable to order Sea Salt Caramel Hot Cocoa. The taste of salt goes well with the hot chocolate with whipped cream on top. But if you visit here in summer, you can switch it to Sea Salt Caramel Quake Shake.

Value of money:

The orders seem to be expensive, but you are having and drinking something classic that is dated back to 1852. I believe it is not too much if you visit it once in a while.

Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop will give you the feeling that you have arrived in San Francisco. And the beverages, whether it is hot or cold, will satisfy you.
