Kuala Lumpur

7 Unusual things every traveler should experience in Kuala Lumpur

The capital city of Malaysia is known across the world for its impending glamour and the beauty of the city beholds. But, with the traditional spots that the majority of the tourists infiltrate, it is very important that you do focus on some of the unusual things that you normally wouldn’t otherwise.

1. Visit the Orchid Conservatory

Who would have even thought of an orchid conservatory, let along having some evening tea there, right? But, the experience is one of a kind. The tea is of good quality and well-brewed as well, so you know that it is worth the money spent. Apart from that, the light snacks that come along with it are quite amazing too.

2. Experience dining in the sky

I am personally not the best with heights which is why I was very sceptical. Dining in the sky takes you 45 meters above the ground where you can not just enjoy delectable food but also accompany the same with a beautiful city view from high up. The only thing that you need to be wary of is to ensure that you make the bookings prior.

3. Enrol in a cooking class

If you loved eating the authentic Malaysian cuisine, you definitely need to enroll yourself in a cooking class there. Not only do you learn how to perfect the Malay dishes, but you can also witness the melting pot delicacies with heavy influence from China and India too. Majority of the classes there teach you the home-cooked delicacies which are hearty and amazing and too good to miss out on.

4. Ride a Segway

This is yet another part of the overall experience that you just can’t match up with. It brings out the inner child within you. Eco Ride Malaysia is one of the best ones that provide with a good segway tour like no other. All you need to do is maintain your balance and not fall headfirst on the ground.

5. Explore A Little Farm on the Hall

If you want some peace and solace from the hustle and bustle of the city, spending your afternoon at “A little farm on the hall” is an out of the world experience. The surroundings are encompassed with the vibrant greenery of the Janda Baik and are one of a kind experience. You can breathe in the freshness of the surroundings and eat some lunch there too. The place offers organic produce and if you are lucky, you can register for the Farmer’s luncheon.

6. Dine in the Dark

I was the most excited about this specific one and I just can’t deny it at all. I eat with my eyes first and then taste the food always, so, when I came across the Dine in the Dark concept in Kuala Lumpur, it is exciting. You get hands-on experience of how it is like to eat in complete darkness, letting all your senses come together to finally taste the food that you have been served with.

7. Explore the Kuala Lumpur International Airport

I know, it might sound weird but, exploring the KLIA is one of the best parts that I can pen down. The most exciting part of it was the KLIA express online promotion and how convenient it made everything. I was not the most impressed with the traffic there and the last thing that you want is to end up experiencing the delay in reaching your destination.

With the airport limo online booking, I kept my options open but I still didn’t want to take any kind of chances. So, the KLIA Express, which is a non-stop rail link service till the airport, was something that I wanted to experience while I was there.

It interlinks the Kuala Lumpur Sentral with Kuala Lumpur International Airport and klia2. The efficient service and the process around was something that I was very sceptical about. But, the frequency of the trains was amazing and I couldn’t believe how well maintained their services were.

If you are planning to visit the city of Kuala Lumpur, it is best suggested to ensure that you do look out for these things to do that I mentioned here. Finish these first in your itinerary because the rush there isn’t a lot but provides with amazing results in terms of the experience you gather there.
